Where Memories Blossom and Traditions Flourish!
Our Mission
The purpose of the Western Oregon Exposition is to be of service to the community. Carrying on the American tradition of Old-Fashioned fun, entertainment, and education in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Our History
The fair was hosted in venues such as the Armory, schools, lumberyards, garages, city parks, and local businesses. It received vital support from the community until Mr. Stanley E. Daugherty generously donated a permanent tract of land.
The Dorena, London, Hebron, and North Douglas Granges came together to establish a venue for farmers, gardeners, homemakers, and 4-H youth to exhibit and compete, showcasing their prized livestock, produce, and skills.
Our Objectives
To increase interest and broaden the knowledge base of agricultural practices, homemaking skills, industry growth, and projects for youth and adults through exhibits, displays, demonstrations, and contests at the annual three-day Heritage Fair held on the third weekend of August each year.
We collaborate with other organizations to promote various community events and increase the usage of our 7-acre fairground. Activities hosted at our fairground include vendor fairs, holiday events, fundraisers for the Cottage Grove Carousel and Tucker’s Cupboard, dog training, 4H events, weddings, school carnival fundraisers, and as a cohost sponsor of the Pro-Am Disc Golf Tournament. We also provide RV and racetrack support parking.
Our fairground has hosted an 18-band, three-day music festival, attracting bands and visitors from the Northwest, California, and Colorado. At all our events, we collect non-perishable food and monetary donations for Community Sharing.
We are an all-volunteer board and organization. The Lane County Granges are actively involved in our projects and board activities. Our board continues to promote the fairgrounds as an important regional asset for community use.
